Abstract
Due to a Covid-19 pandemic occurring, lifestyles around the globe have changed. This research aims to examine the effects of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions from the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), and test their relationship with E-wallet service adoption in Malaysia under the new norms of social distance practices. The study also included two additional factors which are perceived trust and promotional benefits to extend the original UTAUT model. The research used the quantitative method to analyze the data from 141 valid respondents which was chosen through the purposive sampling technique. Based on the findings, performance expectancy, and facilitating conditions were shown to have a positive and significant effect on the intention to adopt E-wallets, meanwhile effort expectancy, social influence, promotional benefits, and perceived trust were found not significantly related to the intention to adopt E-wallets services. Conclusions, implications, and suggestions for future study were also discussed.
